Aquarium Buddy privacy policy

Aquarium Buddy (“the app”) is a tracker for freshwater aquariums. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it. The short version: your aquarium data stays on your device. We do not collect it, see it or sell it.

Information stored on your device

Everything you enter into the app stays in a database on your phone. This includes:

• tank names and volumes
• water test results
• tasks and reminders
• settings

It is not sent to us or to anyone else. There is no account or sign-up. Deleting the app deletes this data. Device backups (for example, iCloud Backup) may include it, under your device provider’s terms.

Reminders

Task and test reminders are scheduled on your device as local notifications. No notification server is involved, and no information leaves your device to deliver them.

Exporting your data

If you export your data as a CSV file, the app creates the file on your device and opens your phone’s share sheet. You decide where the file goes. The app does not send it anywhere on its own.

Subscriptions

Aquarium Buddy Premium is sold through the App Store (and, where available, Google Play). Payments are handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see your payment details.

To check whether you have an active subscription, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription management service. When the app starts or you make or restore a purchase, RevenueCat receives:

• an anonymous, randomly generated app user ID that is not linked to your name, email or Apple ID
• your purchase and subscription history for this app
• basic technical information needed to process the request, such as the app version, the device’s operating system and language, and the IP address of the connection

This information is used only to confirm your subscription and restore purchases. It is not used for advertising or tracking. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/

What we don’t do

• No analytics or tracking tools
• No advertising
• No selling or sharing of personal information
• No tracking across other companies’ apps or websites

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new “last updated” date.
